FSSAI Registration for Food MSMEs (Central)

Description : As per FSS Act, 2006 every MSME engaged in food business in the country needs to be registered under FSSAI. Registration is meant for petty food manufacturers including petty retailer, hawker, itinerant vendor or a temporary stall holder or small or cottage scale industry having annual turnover up to Rs. 12 lakh.Eligibility : 1. what is the annual turnover of your business? <= Rs.12,00,000 2. Are you involved in food related business activities? = Yes

Note: i. Production capacity of food (other than milk & milk products and meat & meat products) does not exceed 100 kg/litres per day, or, ii. Procurement or handling & collection of milk is up to 500 litres of milk per day, or, iii. Slaughtering capacity is 2 large animals or 10 small animals (including sheep and goats) or 50 or fewer poultry birds per day. iv. All food manufacturing and Processing Units v. Storage for retail or distribution or wholesale - Cold/Refrigerated / normal temperature food items vi. Transportation of Food - Single vehicle. vii. Hawkers (on carts / on foot), temporary / permanent food stalls, hotels, restaurants, bar etc.Process : The process for applying for FSSAI is online. 1. Go to https://foscos.fssai.gov.in/ and click at ‘Apply for Registration Certificate (Petty Food Business Operators)’. 2. Enter your email ID or mobile number and verify through OTP. 3. From the left side of dashboard, click at ‘Registration’ and then select ‘Apply for New Registrations’. 4. Select the State where your business is based, your nature of business and sub-domain from the available options. Then click at ‘Proceed’. 5. Select ‘Click here to apply for Registration for all businesses’. This would open Form-A. 6. Submit the duly filled form with prescribed documents and click at ‘Pay’ to proceed with payment. Please note that FSSAI is charged at Rs. 100 per year of registration validity. 7. Save your acknowledgement number. Your application will be inspected and registration certificate provided within 30 days. Note: i.
