Description : This scheme by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas provides cash assistance for PMUY connections - ₹ 1600 (for a connection 14.2kg cylinder/ ₹ 1150 for a 5 kg cylinder), to adult women belonging to SC/ST Households, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) beneficiaries, Antoyadaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiarires, Most Backward Classes, Tea and ex-Tea garden Tribes, Forest Dwellers, people residing in Islands and River Islands, SECC Households (AHL TIN), poor households as per 14 point declaration of the government on online or offline application. The cash assistance covers: - Security Deposit of Cylinder – ₹ 1250 for 14.2 kg cylinder/ ₹ 800 for 5 kg cylinder - Pressure Regulator – ₹ 150 - LPG Hose – ₹ 100 - Domestic Gas Consumer Card – ₹ 25 - Inspection/ Installation/ Demonstration charges – ₹ 75 * Additionally, All PMUY beneficiaries will be provided with first LPG refill and Stove (hotplate) both free of cost along with their deposit free connection by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).to the Women belonging to SC/ST/BPL/poor households at free of cost.Eligibility : 1. Applicant should be an adult female, above 18 years of age. 2. Applicant should belong SC or ST or BPL or SECC or poor households, or Most Backward Classes, or a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), or Tea and ex-Tea Garden Tribes or Forest Dwellers, or people residing in Islands and River Islands. 3. The applicant should have a Savings Bank Account in any nationalized bank across the country. 4. There should be no LPG connections in the same household.Process : Offline process Applicants may apply to any distributor of her choice either by submitting application at the distributor. An applicant can get an application form from the local gas connection distributor or can fill the application form online at https://www.pmuy.gov.in/ujjwala2.html# 2. Select distributor- Indane, Bharat Petroleum or HP and click to apply. Select Ujjwala connection in connection type, read and accept declaration, search for distributor. 3. Carry out e-KYC. Fill in personal, Aadhaar, ration, address,bank account and LPG connection details and upload proofs. 4. The applicant has to mention the type of gas connection they would prefer in the form- between 14.2 kg and 5 kg SBC or DBC.. 5. The connection is to be fixed within 15 days of application. *Subsidies further, would be transferred to the bank account mentioned while applying. *This scheme will benefit only one female member from one household. *Note that it is important to have a bank account to apply for this scheme.
