Objective of the scheme: - Through this Ujjwala scheme, the Government of India is a part of the families living below the poverty line, which hopes to provide more than 5 crore connections of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to women.
Eligibility Criteria for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme To be eligible for availing the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme, applicants have to fulfill the following criteria: • Applicant must be over 18 years of age and a citizen of India • Applicant must be a BPL (Below Poverty Line) household • No one should own LPG connection in the applicant’s home • Household household income, per month, should not exceed a certain limit defined by the Union Territories and the State Government. • The name of the applicant should be in the list of SECC-2011 data and should match with the information available in the BPL database which the oil marketing companies have. • Applicants should not be recipients of other similar schemes provided by the government.
Documents required for the Ujjwala Yojana Scheme are as follows: • BPL certificate authorized by Municipality President or Panchayat head • BPL Ration Card Identity proof with photo (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card) • A passport size photograph that was taken recently • Driving license • No utility bill • lease agreement • Copy of passport • Ration magazine • Possession letter or flat allocation • Self declaration verified by a gazetted officer • House Registration Document • LIC Policy • bank statement The first four documents are mandatory, Steps to apply for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme Applying for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme is not a very difficult task. Individuals only have to meet the eligibility criteria and provide all the necessary documents. • Individuals must first purchase the form available at all LPG outlets across the country and on the PM Ujjwala Yojana website. • This form has to be filled completely with age, name, bank account details, Aadhaar number. Necessary documents have to be attached with the application form. • Individuals also have to mention the type of cylinder they need based on their needs. • This form filled with documents has to be submitted to the nearest LPG outlet.
