Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana

Description : The scheme provides monthly financial assistance of ₹ 1500 to destitute persons. Benefit will be given till beneficiary’s children become 25 years old or son gets employed, whichever happens first. If the beneficiary has two daughters, benefit will continue even if they get 25 years old or get married or get employed.

Destitute persons, blind, disabled (minimum 40% disability), orphan children, persons suffering from major illnesses, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, outraged women, Transgender, etc., between the age 18 to 65 will get benefit under this scheme. Family members of a farmer who committed suicide are also eligible if their annual income is within the prescribed limit.Eligibility : 1.Applicant should belong to the vulnerable section like Destitute persons, blind, disabled (minimum 40% disability), orphan children, persons suffering from major illnesses, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, outraged women, Transgender, etc. 2.Applicant should less than 65 years of age. If applicant is less than 18 years of age he/she should be an Orphan 3.Annual family income of applicant should be up to Rs 21,000/- (In case of disabled person, the income limit is 50000/-) 4.If the applicant has some disability, it should be more than 40%. 5.Applicant should be a resident of Maharashtra for at least 15 years.Process : 1. Approach either local Talathi office or block/ district office of Social Justice and Special Assistance Department. 2. Avail the form and submit it with documents mentioned below. 3. The selection of the beneficiary is done by the locally appointed “Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana Samiti”. 4. List of final beneficiaries will be put out in the office where application was done. 5. The money is transferred to beneficiary’s bank or post account. The department will suggest opening of a bank account if you do not have one already.

*if applicant’s name is not in the BPL list, they can get a certificate in a particular format signed by Tahsildar or Sub-Divisional Officer. The certificate should have Rs. 5 court fee stamp attached.

*Forms can also be availed at any Xerox center near tehsilldar’s office or SETU office in your village/taluka. If the applicant is submitting the forms at the SETU office, he/she will have to submit all documents and the form in a file. This entire file is digitized by the SETU officeBenefit : ₹ 1500 per month.
