Description : E-Shram card is an identity card given to all unorganised workers. The card enables the unorganised worker to benefit from Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana i.e accidental insurance of 2 lakhs for one year at no charge which is subject to renewal at ₹20 per year. In addition, the worker will be eligible for all social security schemes the government may roll out in the future, especially in case of a pandemic or natural disaster. *An unorganised worker refers to someone who is working in any job but there is no contribution for Employee Provident Fund and ESIC.Eligibility : 1. Applicant should be engaged in unorganized sector.
2. Age of the applicant should be between 16 and 59.
3. They should not be covered under Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme or Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) 4. Only agriculture labours and landless farmers are eligible and other farmers are not eligible. 5. Applicant should not be an income tax payer.Process : Self registration:

1. The citizen has to visit https://register.eshram.gov.in/#/user/self
2. They have to input their Aadhar linked mobile number as well as the captcha and click on “No” for the two questions: a. Are you registered with EPFO? b. Are you registered with ESIC?
3. The citizen has to click the Send OTP button and an OTP shall be sent to the mobile number provided above.
4. After inputting OTP, the beneficiary has to click on submit.
5. The citizen has to input their Aadhar number and choose the method of KYC. A. In case there is a mobile number linked to the Aadhar card and the phone number is accessible to the beneficiary, they have to select the OTP method B. If there is no mobile number linked to the Aadhar card or the linked phone number is not accessible to the beneficiary, they have to select either Fingerprint or Iris Option if a biometric device is available.
6. If the citizen has clicked on the OTP button, the citizen will receive an OTP on the mobile number linked to the Aadhar card.
7. The citizen has to input the OTP and the citizen will be directed to validate their data as per Aadhar card.
8. In case the citizen has selected Fingerprint or Iris option, they will have to authenticate via the biometric device and will be redirected to the personal details screen.
9. The citizen has to first fill in personal details such as marital status, disability etc. They also need to fill nominee details completely.
10. The citizen then needs to fill in address. Current address refers to the address they are staying in right now whereas permanent address refers to the address on all their government IDs.
11. The citizen then needs to fill in their highest education qualification and personal monthly income. There is an option to upload income certificate and qualification certificate but it is not mandatory.
12. The citizen then needs to fill in occupation details. There is a question of being a platform worker which refers to whether you work through any company which has an app like Uber,Ola,Swiggy etc.
13. The citizen then needs to fill in their primary occupation i.e the main job they are dong. The list of occupations is available at https://register.eshram.gov.in/assets/file/NCO-codes4.pdf. The citizen needs to copy paste the occupation they are engaged in.
14. The citizen then needs to fill in if they are doing any secondary occupation ie are they doing anything alongside. This is not a mandatory question.
15. Lastly, the worker needs to fill in their bank account details. In case there is an account seeded to Aadhar card,it will automatically show.
16. Lastly, there is an option to preview profile where all details can be checked. When the citizen clicks on submit,the UAN Card is generated.

NOTE: In case the nominee wants to claim the benefit of accidental insurance for the first year, the nominee has to visit the bank branch of the bank account linked with the E-Shram card with the E-Shram card as proof of insurance,Aadhar card of nominee and a copy of FIR or Post morterm report as proof of accident for claims processing.Benefit : One year premium of PMSBY and identity document as unorganised worker
