Scheme Description: To increase the area and production of Horticultural crops and to enhance the farmers income, State Horticulture Development scheme is being implemented with 100% State Government contribution at an outlay of Rs. 30.69 crore during the year 2023-24. This scheme is being implemented with the components such as Area Expansion of Horticulture crops, Promotion of Hi-Tech Practices in Horticulture crops cutivation, Distribution of Terrace Garden Kit, Fruit Plant Kit, Intercropping of Vegetables with Banana/Tapioca, Intercropping of Vegetables in perennial Horticulture Crops, Distribution of Plastic crates, Low Cost Onion Storage Structure, Establishing Garden in Govt. educational institutions and Orphanages, Establishing Cottage Mushroom units, Integrated Nutrient & Pest Management in Betel Vine and Cluster Development for Horticulture Crops.

Subsidy: 50% subsidy limited to a maximum of Rs.50,000/ Unit

Eligibility: Farmers and individuals of Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Karur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Namakkal, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Tiruvarur, Thoothukudi and Virudhunagr districts. Preference will be given to small and marginal farmers, women farmers and SC / ST farmers.
