Description : The main objective of the Farmers Group Life Insurance Scheme (Rythu Bima), is to provide financial relief and social security to the family members/ dependents, in case of loss of farmer’s life due to any reason. This scheme provides life insurance of Rs 5,00,000 to farmers who are pattadars (land owners). The people on whose name land is registered will be eligible for this scheme. Farmers in the age group of 18 to 59 years are eligible for enroll under the scheme. The entire premium is paid by the government to the Life Insurance Corporation of IndiaEligibility : 1. Pattadar farmers (land should be in the name of the farmer) 2. Age should be between 18 and 59 3. Should be Resident of TelanganaProcess : 1. Visit Agricultural extension officer to enroll for this scheme. 2. The farmers have to submit a nominee form where farmer have to fill all required details such as Name, Aadhaar number, Pattadar passbook number, and nominee details 3. After collecting all the information the Agriculture Extension Officer will upload these details in the Rythu Bandhu-Rythu Bima Portal. 4. After that the information of the enrolled farmers will be verified by Mandal Agriculture Officer. 5. After verification, the application will be submitted by Mandal Agriculture officer for enrollment. 6. The uploaded and verified data will be shared with LIC in electronic format. 7. LIC will then generate a separate LIC ID for each enrolled farmer under Telangana Rythu Bima Farmer Insurance Scheme. 8. Then LIC will issue a Certificate of Insurance in favor of the enrolled farmers.
Claim process in case of death:-
- In case of death of a farmer, the nominee will get the sum insured as promised under Telangana Rythu Bima Farmer Insurance Scheme. 2.The nominee/family members should contact Panchayat secretary 3.The panchayat secretary will furnish the death certificate to the agriculture officer within 48 hours, 4.The AEO on gathering the information will forward it to the District Agriculture Officer who in turn send it to the LIC.
- It is mandatory to attach the below mentioned documents along with the Claim Form - Death Certificate Original/ Duly Attested Copy, Aadhar Card of the deceased and the nominee, Nominee Bank Account Passbook, first page having details of the Account Holder, Account Number, and the IFSC Code of the Bank Branch.
- The amount of insurance will be paid in the nominee’s bank account within 10 days.Benefit : Rs. 5,00,000 life insurance
